Georgia Chamberlain Salon In The Spotlight Header

Georgia Chamberlain opened the doors to her salon in August 2022 after quitting her teaching job of 5 years.

“Creating pretty nails for myself was a hobby of mine, but a job I’d only ever dreamed of. The Nail Tech Org made my dream a reality when I enrolled on their gel polish course in May 2022.”

Completing her training at the end of July 2022, Georgia wasted no time in opening up her own salon, converting a spare room into a home salon and opening its doors by August of the same year before also enrolling on a builder gel course.

Georgia’s services include gel polish and builder gel manicures, both as plain or nail art sets. “Although I’m qualified to do extensions, I only offer builder gel form extensions to repair broken nails. I know how frustrating and typical it is that you break a nail just before you’re due to have your nails done.”

“My philosophy is very much about looking after and promoting the growth of clients natural nails.”

Remaining eco-friendly is of high importance to Georgia, therefore, all her products are vegan and cruelty free. “I use Glossify builder gels and gel polishes because their bottles are so white and fresh and beautiful, and they match my salon decor the most,” Georgia laughs. “I also use Home Of Nail Art’s detail paints because they’re super pigmented and a dream to work with.

“My clients love choosing from the range of cuticle oils scents I have in the salon, which are a mixture of NIBA and NAF! Pro, both of which smell delicious.”

When asked about what makes her salon different, Georgia explains how her opening hours are flexible to fit her clientele. While it is not uncommon for salons to be open on Thursdays and Fridays, Georgia also opens on Sundays.

“Most salons shut on a Sunday, but I know from being a teacher that Sundays are for chilling out and being pampered, so I wanted to make this happen for the people of Evesham.”

Georgia invested in making her salon of utmost comfort for her clients. As it is only her who works at the salon, she is able to create one-to-one experiences with her clients, encouraging comfort. To create a calming vibe, she chose wooden furniture and calming shades, such as white walls and ceilings with one khaki green feature wall for a pop of colour, alongside a cosy cream carpet.

“Clients often arrive in their comfies and bring their slippers which I love and encourage as slippers are a part of my work uniform,” she shares. “I have invested in making my salon super comfortable because each of my appointments lasts a few hours – I’m a perfectionist so will take my time to get your nails to a standard I’m happy with.”

“My nail desk is solid wood and I have a matching chest of drawers to go with it. The desk is one I bought for doing my teaching paperwork, but with the help from my dad, we cut a hole out of the back, so that two people can sit at it,” she says. “I’m so glad I bought some acrylic to protect the top, as my acetone drips would have destroyed the wood on my desk by now.

“My favourite part of the salon is my  gorgeous cream boucle chairs with chrome gold legs. Weirdly, I wouldn’t have chosen them for anywhere else in my house, but they look gorgeous in the salon and clients always say how comfy they are.”

“I love my nail desk that my dad and I altered together, because it feels like nobody else will have one like mine.”

While Georgia’s favourite feature of her set up is her cream boucle chairs with chrome gold legs, an added bonus to her salon is her gorgeous doodle dog.

“Although she isn’t allowed in the salon, clients can’t normally resist her cute face peering through the glass door at the bottom of the stairs as they leave, so she often smells of cuticle oil.”
