Sister duo, Martina and Yvette Parent, opened the doors to The Beauty Hut in July 2021 in memory of their mother, Linda Parent, who they lost to Covid in June 2020.

“This business means everything to us and we’re trying our hardest to make it successful for our mum,” they share. “It was a very difficult time for us, but opening in her memory and knowing how proud she’d be is what helps us every day.”

Beginning their training in 2020, Martina and Yvette undertook the majority of their training online due to the lockdown, training with Elizabeth Sands, The Beauty Academy, Glitterbels and The Nail Tech Org with the support of their father, Dave Parent.

The sisters qualified in a range of nail and beauty services, including builder gel, gel polish, waxing, lashes, brows, facials, and dermaplaning, with plans to continue expanding their treatment menu. The most popular treatments in the family-run salon are builder gel and lash extensions.

“We use only good quality products such as Glitterbels, The Lash Hause and London Lash. We have tried many brands over the past few years, but these work best for us and our clients.

“We work together as partners in the business,” the sisters explain. “We do all the treatments ourselves as we’d quite like to keep it as family-run beauty business.”

“We’re welcoming and love to meet new clients all the time, and always look forward to seeing our regulars,” they smile. “Our doors are open to anyone and everyone.

“It’s a unique place for us, because we worked hard to build up our business and get where we are today. We are a small beauty room that can have two clients in at a time, so its nice and peaceful for those that want that relaxing treatment without the hustle and bustle of clients coming and going all the time. There’s also plenty of parking around too, so there’s no struggling on that aspect either.”
