The Boutik Salon

Recently refurbished, The Boutik Salon has evolved over the years to hone its client experience.“Originally started in 2009 as a nail salon in Plympton, Plymouth, The Boutik Salon has grown and expanded its range of services and treatments covering all aspects of hair, beauty, nails and lash,” reveals owner Abigail James. “After relocating to the Plymstock area in Plymouth, I worked tirelessly to achieve my ultimate ambition of offering the Plymouth community a unique salon experience. I wanted to create a place to visit, relax in comfort and enjoy one or more hair and beauty treatments, and all from within a single salon location.”

To meet this need, the last year has seen Abigail make a number of changes through the salon. “The first stage of expansion was completed in May 2017 with the acquisition of the connecting hair salon,” Abigail reveals. “Three further refit stages have been completed up to this month. This includes buildings works, new windows, updated shopfront, staff and kitchen areas. The final stages of the refit were to the main customer facing areas including front of shop, reception, hair stations, beauty rooms, nail area, lash area, pedicure area and spray tanning room. Future expansion opportunities include increasing the salon space to offer further spa and massage facilities.”

With its team of eight, The Boutik offers a wide range of hair and beauty treatments all within special areas of the salon. “Each area has a certain intimacy and privacy giving the customer the complete focus and the full attention of the salon team,” Abigail reveals. “The salon also has chill out areas for when its customers are looking to take some time out pre- or post-treatment.” For its hand and nail service, the team currently use Ink London and Faby product lines.

Aiming to appeal to a variety of clientele, Abigail wanted to ensure the décor was both neutral and stylish. “The theme has been tailored to appeal to a diverse client base, for both male and female, young and old, reflecting our wide range of treatments and services for all,” Abigail explains. “The layout of the salon has been greatly improved with dedicated rooms and areas including a new pedicure station, cool down area, an increase in our lash stations and a dedicated beauty room for private treatments. New REM equipment has been installed throughout the salon too.

“The theme sees a mixture of brick with copper and charcoal colours with softer whites and light pinks. The salon has a slight rustic or industrial theme with touches of metals and woods. A selected range of furniture to support this look including copper features and softer material patterns added to the desired warmth look.”
