Salon in the Spotlight: Kelly’s Beauty Box

Completing her training as a beauty therapist in 2009 and qualifying as a nail technician the following year, Kelly opted to open her own salon after six years of salon experience in 2016.
She kept her salon home-based for the first five years after branching out on her own, but soon outgrew the space and sought to expand. Taking the time lockdown gave to plan her business expansion, Kelly moved to Basepoint Business Centre, Crawley, West Sussex in 2021.
With two treatment rooms at the salon, it was imperative that both had different vibes. While one room features blush pink tones and a standout flower wall and neon sign, the second room is designed to create a calm atmosphere.
“The second room overlooks natural surroundings to help clients feel calm and refreshed during treatments,” Kelly shares. “We wanted to make sure our clients feel special and one of the key features to achieve this is our REM treatment couch. The spa couch is luxuriously upholstered for maximum comfort.”

Offering treatments including manicures, pedicures, gel polish, L&P acrylic and builder gel services, Kelly and her colleague, Isobelle, strive to offer the best customer service to their clients.
Gel polish services using OPI and The GelBottle Inc are the most popular nail treatments due to their durability, and Kelly’s Beauty Box also offers luxury treatments such as cooling facials, laser hair removal and a signature Face Workout.
“My favourite aspect of the salon is the way the décor choices make clients feel,” notes Kelly. “It’s something that can be overlooked, but it’s surprising how different décors affect how you feel. The nail room is energetic and vibrant, while the other room is calm and relaxing.”
For the future, Kelly’s main focus is adding to the team and expanding the salon. She also places importance on staying up-to-date with trends and expanding knowledge.
