Scratch catches up with nail tech, Lucy Sibley, to learn more about her industry journey…

Lucy entered the nail industry at the end of 2018 after her youngest daughter became unwell. “I needed a career that was flexible but that also fulfilled my creative personality,” she explains. “Now I work part time in a salon and am going to be increasing my hours very soon. I can’t wait!

“I specialise in L&P enhancements as I love the creative scope you get with L&P and that I can create such as marbling and colour blocking, which is fast becoming my signature nail style.”

Lucy’s goals for the later part of the year are to be fully booked and to be working full time hours. She is also due to attend a training session with nail tech and Scratch Stars Awards 2020 finalist, Kylea Wherry, and to enter a boxed multimedia competition.

Lucy admires many techs in the industry. “I admire Kylea Wherry, Victoria Jayne McManus (Trilogy Owner and creator) and Bethany Stockell, as her colour blocking designs are amazing.

“I’d say my favourite product of all time is Trilogy Nail Systems; I was extremely proud to be asked by them to be a brand ambassador which has also been a highlight of my career. My favourite nails to date are a set I recreated very recently using inspiration from Bethany Stockell. I used six different colours of acrylic powder to complete the design and a lot of patience!”
