Once it gets cold outside, many choose to retire their bright polishes in favour of darker, edgier winter nail colours. Gelish’s ‘Black Cherry Berry’ shade is ideal for clients embracing the change in season; the perfect combination of sexy and vampy.

When paired with a smattering of glitzy Swarovski crystals it adds a playful pop of colour and shine to the look. In association with Salon Services, I’ve created a sophisticated step-by-step using the shade. Here’s a step-by-step:

  1. File nails to the desired shape then prep & cleanse using Gelish Nail Surface Cleanse.
  2. Apply Gelish pH Bond to temporarily dehydrate the nail.
  3. Next, apply Gelish Foundation and dry brush. Top tip: use a Gelish brush dedicated to dry brushing only.
  4. Apply two coats of Gelish in Black Cherry Berry, curing between each coat.
  5. Apply Gelish Top Coat fand cure.
  6. Wipe the inhibition layer from all nails.
  7. Paint a thin layer of Gelish Foundation onto the areas to which you wish to add Swarovski crystals.
  8. Apply a small amount of top coat onto the end of a dotting tool then, pick up a Swarovski crystal and place where desired. Cure.
  9. Use a striping brush to apply the Gelish Top Coat on the base of each crystal as well as around the crystal.
  10. Cure for a final time and then cleanse.
