Pop art nails tutorial
Step by Step
Kelly Scothorn, Magpie Beauty brand partner, showcases how to easily create the trending pop art nail style, sometimes referred to as cartoon or comic nails. She uses Magpie Beauty products throughout.
Step 1
Apply your chosen gel colour and cure. Wipe away the inhibition layer.
Step 2
Using a striper or detailer brush, apply black gel paint around the outside edges of the nail. Cure.
Step 3
Mix a slightly darker tone of the base colour for the shadow. Apply a thin line down the right hand side of the nail and cure.
Step 4
Add a small horizontal line at the bottom edge of the nail with the black gel paint. Cure.
Step 5
Using the striper or detailer brush, paint a thin black line alongside the darker gel colour line.
Step 6
Using white gel paint, add a dot at the top of the nail near the cuticle area. Cure.
Step 7
Paint a long, thin white line down the left hand side of the nail and cure.
Step 8
Apply your chosen top coat and cure.
