By Jess Watts | 14 August 2026 | Art & Technique
LA-based girl group, KATSEYE, has taken the world by storm. Alongside their highly influential music careers, the members are also known for trendsetting nail styles.
Let’s take a look at their most notable nail looks…
New York-based celebrity nail artist, Naomi Yasuda (@naominailsnyc), is behind the majority of KATSEYE’s most iconic nail designs. After relocating from Japan to the US, a chance encounter with a make-up artist led Naomi to Hollywood’s elite, and her client base now boasts A-listers including Lady Gaga, Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter.
1. Head In The Clouds Festival
LA-based music festival, Head In The Clouds, is an annual celebration of artists from across the Asian diaspora. The weekend-long festival returned in 2026 with KATSEYE headlining Saturday’s festivities. To complement their Y2K-inspired pink, white and blue outfits, Naomi Yasuda created custom, gem-bellished nail looks for each member.
2. Animal music video
The music video for 2026 hit single, Animal, saw the members of KATSEYE rocking crystal nails. From Daniela Avanzini’s chain-link look to Megan Skiendiel’s jazzed-up bangle French tips, each nail style stole the show.
3. The Governors Ball
At the beginning of June 2026, KATSEYE performed at NYC music festival, The Governors Ball. The group were dressed in polka dot outfits, and of course, Naomi Yasuda designed custom nails to match. Each design incorporated a symbol of New York, with Sophia Laforteza’s neon yellow and black look boasting the iconic ‘I love NY’ graphic.
4. American Music Awards (AMAs)
The AMAs are one of the biggest nights in the music industry, and KATSEYE made their mark in more ways than one. Not only did the group turn heads with kitschy, Y2K-inspired nail looks, but they took home wins in all three categories they were nominated in.
5. Pinky Up music video
KATSEYE dropped their techno-pop single Pinky Up in April 2026, accompanied by a music video that leaned fully into the song’s rebellious, chaotic coquette aesthetic. Among the standout beauty moments were the singers’ eye-catching nail styles, with Megan Skiendiel’s 3D nails taking inspiration from her outfits and adding an extra dose of drama to her look.
