Melanie Lewendon podcast The Nail Tech Society

Scratch Stars Educator of the Year and Online Educator of the Year finalist 2026, Melanie Lewendon, has created The Nail Tech Society – a podcast based around demystifying nail sector topics.

“As an educator, I spend a lot of time in Facebook forums answering many of the same questions,” says the pro, who won the esteemed Scratch Stars Educator of the Year title in 2024, and Online Educator of the Year accolade the following year. “So many nail techs rely on answers in forums, which can cause confusion.

“The Nail Tech Society was born from me wanting to explain answers to frequently asked questions, in simple terms with no jargon.”

Melanie continues: “Jargon can overwhelm nail pros and impact confidence. Sometimes all that is needed is for topics to be broken down in clear, practical ways. I want to make complicated matters more accessible and understandable.”

Boasting episodes covering how to become a nail tech and choose a nail brand, as well as guides to gels and gel training, the podcast’s bio states that ‘each episode explores the why and how behind techniques, products and building a successful career in the nail industry’. It features ‘honest conversations, brand neutral education and no gatekeeping’.

“Content is based around common questions, using real scenarios, frequent misconceptions and my own experiences as an award-winning educator to explain not just what to do, but why it matters,” Melanie shares. “With some episodes, I supply downloads to help listeners, or signpost them to external support.”

Looking to the future, Melanie would like to bring on guests, to offer more of an insight into the realities of being a nail tech. “I hope the podcast will serve as an educational resource that professionals can use for their students and themselves,” she says. “I’d love to eventually have a studio and film myself recording the episodes, so audiences can see me too.

“Podcasts have helped me with my business so much, and I wanted to provide this level of support to the nail industry. I’m still learning and do suffer from imposter syndrome, but I’m determined and have found a real purpose with The Nail Tech Society.”

Melanie describes the initial response to the podcast as ‘amazing’. “I can’t believe how many people have tuned in, and I’ve received lots of positive messages from new nail techs, which are spurring me on,” she smiles.
