Love Beauty Hate Waste

Online beauty shopping destination, Glorious Beauty, has launched Love Beauty, Hate Waste, an initiative to avoid unnecessary beauty waste.

A beauty product may be sent to landfill because of a packaging update, superficial damages like scuffs or scratches, or a short expiry date (being within six months of the ‘best before’ date). Glorious Beauty‘s collection of Love Beauty, Hate Waste products is helping to prevent this.

Products included in the collection are discounted between 40% to 60%, and feature easily identifiable icons and descriptors: ‘catch me while you can’ for discontinued items, ‘outfit change’ for products with packaging changes, ‘contents are still glorious’ for items with minor, superficial damage, and ‘save £ and use me straight away’ for products within six months of their expiry date.

Tracy Moores, founder & director of Glorious Brands Ltd, which owns Glorious Beauty, comments: “Sustainability is one of the biggest challenges that faces the beauty industry, with millions of tonnes of products ending up in landfill every year.

“We are committed to helping reduce wastage; our Love Beauty, Hate Waste initiative focuses on those perfectly imperfect products that need not end up in landfill, provide great value for our customers and possibly make our higher-priced beauty brands accessible to more.”
