Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has announced that England’s Plan B restrictions will end on 27 January 2022.

This means face coverings will no longer be mandatory inside public places and will no longer be required in nail & beauty salons.

However, the PM did say that it was time to ‘trust the judgement’ of the public on mask wearing in enclosed or crowded spaces.

The Covid pass scheme showing proof of full vaccination or a recent negative test will also end, and will no longer need to be shown at large venues.

Johnson also said, in a speech to parliament, he wanted to scrap mandatory self-isolation for people who test positive for Covid-19.

The current self-isolation regulations are due to expire on 24 March, and it has been said that he is not planning on renewing them and is instead hoping to seek a vote in the House of Commons to bring this date forward.
