Prepare your business for the month of December with our roundup of dates to note…
1st-24th: Scratch-vent
Scratch-vent brings you a 24-day sleigh ride of surprises! Each day leading up to Christmas, a new prize is waiting to be unwrapped behind a magical Scratch-vent door. Simply head to www.scratchmagazine.co.uk, open the door of the day, and fill out the quick entry form for your chance to win.

1st: Walt Disney Day
Held annually on the first Monday in December, Walt Disney Day remembers and honours the huge impact the industry icon had on film and television.
Aside from rewatching your favourite feel-good Disney film, why not encourage clients to sport classic characters on their claws?

2nd: Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is a ‘global day of activism’ that inspires and celebrates generosity in all forms. The Chartered Institute of Fundraising describes the event as a time when ‘everyone, everywhere can do something to support the good causes and communities that mean so much to them’.
Alongside embracing kindness and offering others your care and compassion, why not organise a fundraising initiative or donate to a charity of your choice?

4th: World Wildlife Conservation Day
4 December has been recognised as World Wildlife Conservation Day since 2012, when it was created to ‘raise awareness of issues including wildlife extinction, endangerment and global wildlife trafficking and poaching’. Despite actions to try help, human impact is continuing to negatively affect biodiversity.
Spend the day researching and raising awareness of animal rights. You can even do this via client nail designs!

11th: Hair & Beauty Charity Dress Up For Dinners Day
The Hair & Beauty Charity’s Dress Up for Dinners Day returns on Thursday 11 December. This year, it’s not just about jumpers – but adding joy to your day while supporting industry colleagues in need. If you can’t wear a festive jumper, why not sport a Christmas hat, antlers or a touch of sparkle with some sequins?
Simply wear your festive jumper or Christmas-related regalia to work in return for a small donation to the Hair & Beauty Charity. The money raised will help provide food vouchers and gifts for children over the festive season, as well as support the charity’s work to help industry colleagues in need.

12th: Gingerbread House Day
This day of yuletide yumminess aims to encourage families and friends to gather together and create the classic Christmas treat! However, crafting a gingerbread house on nails is another level of creativity, and certainly does the job to celebrate the day.
Feast your eyes on these gingerbread-themed nail designs.

21st: Winter solstice
According to English Heritage, ‘during winter solstice, the earth’s axis is tilted at its furthest point from the sun. This means that, for us in the northern hemisphere, the sun is at its lowest point in the sky’. Essentially, winter solstice marks the shortest day of the year, and the longest night.
Embrace the presence of the starry sky with a themed nail design, and brighten up the dark by adding some seasonal sparkle!

24th & 25th: Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
‘The most wonderful time of the year’ culminates with Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. As we reach the summit of sparkle season, these two days scream for seasonal sets. Give your clients the gift of festive fingertips with Santa styles, Christmas tree talons and more.

31st: New Year’s Eve
For nail techs, the final day of the year is usually covered in glitter. Sparkle and silver styles are among the most popular NYE nail requests. While you are tending to talons, remember to take a moment to reflect on the year you’ve had, and acknowledge the things you have achieved.
Congratulations for another year of wonderful work. Here’s to 2026!
