Painter & creative nail enthusiast, Tiger Taylor, has launched Claws: a range of press-on nails crafted from oxybiodegradable plastic, housed in fully compostable packaging.

With a belief that great-looking nails shouldn’t compromise on sustainability, the Claws ethos is: ‘convenient, stylish and cost-effective nails that don’t cost the earth’.

Tiger worked with an eco-friendly, bioplastic specialist factory to create the nails, which take between two and three years to degrade, compared to regular plastic, which takes up to 500 years.

An admirer of nail art, Tiger views it as a canvas for self-expression, and has used nail art as a way to portray her moods, cultural influences and trends.

“My nail designs have helped me to develop my style in so many ways,” she shares. “Planning the colour and design is part of the fun of expressing what is influencing you at this time in your life. Nails are wearable art, and I wanted to create a way to maintain the same artistic freedom, without causing so much damage to the planet.”

Tiger’s vision for the brand is “to change the way people think about nails and the nail industry. Your style does not have to cost the earth. I think nails should be changed, reused like you would change your jewellery and not be so disposable.”

Each Claws kit comes with two sets of biodegradable press-on nails, a nail file, two sets of stickers, tiger print decals and an information leaflet.
