Nail tech creates custom nails for Drag Race UK star’s debut single

Lincolnshire based mobile tech, Melanie of Cruelty Free Clawz, shares how she came to create Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK star Vanity Milan’s nails for her debut single, entitled Miss Milan (Don’t Play With Me).
How did this opportunity arise?
Vanity Milan first reached out to me regarding creating nails for her live announcement of her entry into Drag Race UK. Since then, I have developed a positive working relationship with Vanity and created several sets of custom nails for special events, photo shoots, and her music debut. It’s a fantastic single and I am so pleased to support Vanity’s musical debut.
What products did you use for Vanity’s nail look?
As an ambassador for Lecenté I work exclusively using its Create range of gel colours, along with its foils and glitters.
I used the Coco Fizz Create Glitter Gel Polish, Silver Spangle Foil, Silver Holographic Multi Glitz Chunky Glitter , Pearlescent Nail Art Powder and Smooth It! to create Vanity’s design.

How did you and Vanity decide on the design?
Vanity sent me an inspiration picture and also suggested the length and shape of the tips. The theme was silver, sparkly and dramatic. From there, Vanity let me have free rein! I sent Vanity pictures to check she was happy with the design at each stage.
How long did it take to create?
From start to finish, the set took approximately two hours to create.
