Tell us about your training…

I started out with beauty therapy at college. Nail technology was a part of the course and it really intrigued me. I decided to peruse this as a career and have gone on  to train with many companies and highly talented techs. To name a few, EZ Flow,. OPI, Crystal Nails and Nail Artists, as well as Hazel Dixon, Fereida Lyndiate, Pisut Masanong, Gemma Lambert, Greg Salo and Kirsty Meakin.

What is your all-time favourite nail product?

Gel polish. Since I added it to my treatment list back in 2010, my business has boomed. I love how you can do a classic plain manicure or intricate nail art with just the one product. You can’t beat the shine of a gel top coat.

What designs do you love to create?

I love creating colourful abstract designs or themed nails. I have a few clients that like to challenge me; they tell me the theme a few days in advance and then leave me to do what I want. I love the free range they give me!

I also have some clients who have kept dedicated to a certain theme. One client had cat theme nails for a whole year, we got to do lots of famous cats, from maneki neko to Thunder Cats! I have another who is working her way through the Disney movies in number order.

What treatment or nail technique are you planning to add to your services?

I love learning nail art techniques. I have booked upcoming training dates with Alexa Kisgyori and Amanda Hawtree-taft.

What are your next steps?

I am pushing myself to try new things and hoping to compete in more competitions in the near future.

What is the most exciting thing about the UK nail industry?

It’s constantly changing and evolving, because of this I am constantly learning and can never get bored. As it progresses, so do I.

If you weren’t doing nails, what would you be doing?

Teaching or something creative. When I was at school I either wanted to be an English Literature teacher or a nail tech – and nails won! I also enjoy photography so that might have been an option.
