Shoot Out Web 1200 Entry

Thinking of entering our annual, worldwide photographic competition?

The Great Scratch Shoot Out is your chance to collaborate with a creative team, snap a winning shot and share your work with the world – with prizes to be won, too. Open to any skill level with no set theme, the competition is your chance to try your hand at photographic nail work, where creativity knows no bounds.

This competition offers nail professionals the chance to get creative and show off their artistic talent and flair in a fun, no pressure way.

The competition is open to all skill and experience levels. With its remote, online entry, The Great Scratch Shoot Out offers the chance to create your entry at your own pace. With no live competition day, you can enjoy the creative process with no pressure or worry.

Offering the chance to step out from behind the nail desk, the competition asks participants to combine their nails skills with a creative team to complete a stunning image.

Planning and executing your own photo shoot allows you to team up with fellow creatives, including a photographer, model, hair stylist and make-up artist. The result? A stunning set of images that can be used for marketing, attracting new clients or even exciting career opportunities. The photos you produce can help build your portfolio, as well as brighten up your website, social media or salon space. Plus, you’ll have a list of creative contacts, new skills and experiences.

Lucy Allen, winner of 2021, shares how her career has changed since winning…

“Since winning, I’ve been made a brand representative for INK London, a brand I’ve used and loved for 3 years, which is a huge honour and I’ve been busier than ever, with a waitlist of over 80 people wanting to book in with me,” reveals Lucy.

“Doing the shoot really helped my creative mojo, so I’ve had a lot of fun doing some really creative nail art on client’s nails in the studio too.”
