11 eye-catching nail looks from the Oscars 2024

The 96th Academy Awards (the Oscars) took place 10 March, with celebrity attendees showcasing glamorous looks as they gathered to celebrate film achievements from the past year.

Here are 11 celebrity nail styles papped at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood, that caught our eyes…

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt wore this subtly sparkling manicure, courtesy of celebrity manicurist, Julie Kandalec, using The GelBottle Inc Gel Polish in Silk, a sheer pale pink shade, topped with The GelBottle Inc Extreme Shine Topcoat in Starlight for a multi-tonal holographic finish.

“We decided to keep Emily’s look monotone, as she and her husband, John Krasinski, were matching in full monotone looks,” Julie Kandalec shares. “Opting for a custom cool sheer pink with shimmer, we layered three coats of gel polish, so a bit of extra pink showed through. We finished with a holographic top coat to pull out the sparkle in her Schiaparelli gown and Tiffany & Co. diamonds. On her toes, Emily wore Peacci Nail Polish in Valentina, as we wanted the toes to have a bit more sheen under the gown.”

Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh wore a sparkling embellished nail look to match her Oscars gown, courtesy of fashion manicurist, Dawn Sterling.

Danielle Brooks

Brooks’ nail style had a special meaning, featuring 26 glittering crystals on each nail. Each crystal represented the past black women nominated for Best Supporting Actress, with Brookes being the 26th. Nails by nail artist, Temeka Jackson.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie wore a warm caramel hue, courtesy of nail artist, Betina Goldstein, who used Chanel Nail Colour in Le Vernis Légende.

“For Margot’s nails, I wanted to complement the brown tones of her dress, but still keep the look feeling light and modern,” Betina Goldstein explains. “I love the balanced tones of the warm caramel shade we used.”

Cynthia Erivo channelled Wicked with this glittering emerald green Elphaba-inspired nail design, courtesy of Los Angeles nail artist, Rose Hackle.

Annette Benning complemented her navy blue Oscars outfit with a matching nail design, courtesy of nail artist, Sarah Chue, using The GelBottle Inc Gel Polish in Blueberry.
